Agar spray: new applications of the rigid gel for the treatment of large surfaces

The Master

Graduated in 2004 from the Academy of Fine Arts and Restoration “Abadir” of S.Martino delle Scale in Palermo, in 2013 she qualifies to practice the profession of Restorer of Cultural Heritage earning a degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Palermo.
In 2017 she obtains the II level International Master in “Biology for the Knowledge and Conservation of Cultural Heritage” at the Roma Tre University.
She collaborates since 2014 with the Research Laboratory of Biology and Biotechnology for Cultural Heritage at the University of Palermo.
She lives and works in Palermo, where, as an expert in the field of Conservation and Restoration, she collaborates with national and international Museums, Superintendencies, Training Organizations.

The training course aims at restorers, artisans, freelancers and students.
The teacher will make the appropriate distinctions based on the individual knowledge and skills of the individual participant.

The innovative procedure presented during the workshop will provide participants with new theoretical and practical knowledge on the applicative potential of this helpful gelling agent.
The new methodology developed by the teacher, thanks to the tool adopted for the application, gives the agar new structural characteristics.
For the first time the treatment becomes feasible, safe and suitable for complex surfaces, extended and varied in nature, obtaining results that are difficult to reach with the methods presently known. The workshop will offer participants know-how and skills to master the application of the “agar spray” technique.

training hours.
